Be Realistic: Set an attainable goal within a realistic time frame. Saying you want to lose 20 pounds in a month is not realistic. When we set goals we cannot reach we become discouraged. Set attainable goals and build upon those goals.
Be Specific: Don’t just say to yourself “I want to lose weight” or “I want to eat healthy”. Set specific goals that can be measured, such as losing 1 pound a week or doing a cycling class twice a week. Having goals that can be met and measured give you something to work towards.
Be Still: Take time to be still and listen to what your mind and body needs. Make time for silence and learn to be comfortable with it and not feel you need to fill the space with noise. Through the stillness and silence, you will be guided to what you need and must do to you need to do to reach your goals.
Envision It: Try making a vision board and place it somewhere that you will see it everyday. Maybe you want to fit into that new swimsuit summertime or run a 5K by springtime. Whatever your goal is envision it. Tear out pages from magazines or print out pictures from the Internet that inspire you. When we can vision it, our actions become reality.
Start now and practice living mindfully everyday!
